The first of four multisectoral regional dialogues will be held on 10 May, focusing on Africa. The NCD Alliance will bring together diverse members of its network and the broader NCD community to discuss region-specific approaches to people-centred health systems, in order to build back better and fairer from the COVID-19 pandemic. They will also examine the role of different stakeholders in promoting the meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs, such as government, academia and private sector.
- Africa - 10 May
- Latin America - 8 June
- South-East Asia / Western Pacific - 16 June
- Eastern Mediterranean - 22 June
These dialogues will contribute to the development of a Global Charter on Meaningful Involvement of People Living with NCDs [2]. The charter will identify the different enablers and barriers to meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs. It will also offer strategies to ensure genuine participation and mechanisms for accountability of commitments made towards this aim.
In addition to the regional dialogues, the Charter will be informed by an online survey and a series of regional meetings for civil society.
The NCD Alliance will also support national and regional NCD alliances in reaching out to their local communities to gather additional insights, with grant opportunities being made available for this purpose.
