UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF)
Under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)
The 2025 HLPF will take place from 14 to 23 July 2025, including a ministerial segment from 21 to 23 July, as part of the High-level Segment of ECOSOC.
This year’s theme is: “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for leaving no one behind.”
The Forum will conduct in-depth reviews of five key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being)
- SDG 5 (Gender Equality)
- SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth)
- SDG 14 (Life Below Water)
- SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)
A total of 37 countries will present their Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs), sharing progress, challenges, and innovative practices in implementing the 2030 Agenda.
Bringing together high-level representatives from governments, the UN system, academia, civil society, and other stakeholders, the HLPF serves as the central global platform for tracking and advancing sustainable development. The forum will also feature side events, VNR Labs, special events, and exhibitions to enrich dialogue and collaboration.
