Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) are on the rise and now make up 7 of the world’s top 10 causes of death. Diabetes is among the top 10 causes of death worldwide, and has increased by 70% since 2000. The number of children and young people living with diabetes is also increasing every year and 1 million now have type 1 diabetes (T1D).
