AOMNT-CI brings together people living with NCDs to advocate to politicians for better care of patients through awareness campaigns and screening for these diseases among the population.
The Alliance des Organisations de lutte contre les Maladies Non-Transmissibles de Côte d'Ivoire (AOMNT-CI) was created by Prof. Abodo Jacko in 2016 following the dialogue organised by WHO and NCD Alliance on the role of non-state actors in supporting member states in national efforts to combat NCDs in the context of the 2030 development agenda. AOMNT-CI regularly raises awareness of the national public health consequences of NCDs and their risk factors, in particular premature deaths and the link between NCDs, poverty, and sustainable development. AOMNT-CI advocates to help countries meet the commitments made in 2011 and 2014 to fight NCDs, to reach the global targets on NCDs, and to:
