Desiderata Institute

Desiderata is an institute founded in 2003 to support public healthcare policies for children and adolescents.

To this end, it promotes actions of mobilization and articulation between the public sector and civil society, training of healthcare professionals for early diagnosis, humanization of treatment, and production and dissemination of knowledge in the area.

Since its founding, Desiderata has worked to change the reality of child and adolescent cancer in Rio de Janeiro. In 2019, we expanded our agenda, including childhood and adolescent obesity, which together with cancer, constitute serious threats to the health of children and adolescents in Brazil.
