Mexico's diabetes epidemic

Type 2 diabetes can lower the life expectancy of patients by 10 years. Mexico is facing an epidemic of the chronic condition, largely caused by increased intake of ultra-processed foods and the lack of exercise space in city centres. By uniting public and private sectors in early intervention programmes, Novo Nordisk is aiming to reduce rates of complications and preventable mortality.
