About Eurocare

The European Alcohol Policy Alliance (Eurocare) is the only alliance of national, pan-European and international NGOs working exclusively on EU policy analysis and advocacy linked to the reduction of alcohol related harm in Europe. Starting with 9 member organisations in 1990, it now has 50 member organisations across 18 European countries, including 7 international organisations. Member organisations are involved in advocacy and research, as well as in the provision of information and training on alcohol issues and the provision of services for people whose lives are affected by alcohol problems.

Eurocare's work on NCDs

Eurocare is committed to advance policies to prevent and reduce alcohol-related harm in European policy decisions on alcohol. We do so by:

  • Promoting the best evidence-based alcohol policies and research at EU and international level, with a special focus on the consumer's right to information.
  • Raising awareness about alcohol related harm at European and national level, specifically amongst policy makers.
  • Organising and participating in public health and alcohol policy conferences to foster alliances and break siloed approaches.
  • Bridging the gap between institutions and civil society, including people with lived experience and patients through advocacy campaigns and capacity-building activities.
