What We Do

NCD Alliance's mission is to unite and strengthen our civil society network to stimulate collaborative advocacy, action and accountability for NCD prevention and control.

This section provides an overview of the work NCD Alliance does supporting our network of member as well as our work with WHO, at the UN.

NCD Alliance's advocacy seeks to ensure health remains central to national government priorities, and tangible wins are secured for global NCD prevention and control. Our advocacy frames NCDs as an economic and a social justice issue, and extends beyond health, joining forces with partners across a diverse range of sectors that impact upon NCDs.

With global NCD commitments, targets and plans in place, governments need to focus attention on how they will be accountable for the commitments made. Non state actors have a role in assuring accountability through monitoring, review and action.

Knowledge Exchange

NCD Alliance produces analysis and publications on priority policy issues, works with partner organisations to translate knowledge and policy into action, and helps ensure that good practice in evidence-based policy and implementation are shared among international, regional and national forums in person and online.

To catalyse dialogue and build consensus on priority issues, NCD Alliance facilitates and convenes meetings, high-profile events, roundtables and virtual webinars focused on topical themes, with the Global NCD Alliance Forum our flagship event.

Capacity Development

Capacity development is a cornerstone of the NCD Alliance’s work aimed at empowering and supporting NCD civil society at national and regional levels to effectively and sustainably stimulate government action and ensure accountability for NCDs.
