FoCP and the Global NCD Alliance Forum

FoCP has been the local host organisation of the Global NCD Alliance Forum in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE) since its first edition in 2015, where more than 200 civil society representatives from six continents adopted the Sharjah Declaration on NCDs: Civil Society United Towards 2030. "No one sector alone will reverse the NCD epidemic, but working together we have the tremendous opportunity to chart a new course toward health and sustainable human development for a more equitable and healthier future for all", states the Declaration.

The 2020 Global NCD Alliance Forum will take place on 8-10 February 2020 growing from the successes of the first two Forums in 2015 and 2017, mobilising key civil society stakeholders and partners in the NCD community, and consolidating the Forum as the key global meeting for NCD civil society. The third Forum, themed “Bridging the Gap”, will build on the outcomes of the 2018 UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs and look to accelerate efforts to translate political commitments and rhetoric into action and implementation at local and national levels.
