NCD Alliance Webinar on NCDs in Humanitarian Settings

The NCD Alliance invites the global NCD movement to join a webinar on

Noncommunicable diseases in Humanitarian Settings

to be held on:

Tuesday 3 December from 3.00 pm to 4.30 pm CET // 9.00 am - 10.30 am EDT

In large parts of each continent, the humanitarian crisis has reached a record high, leaving millions with limited access to food, shelter, clean water and essential health services.
In parallel, noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and associated premature mortality continue to threaten economies, sustainable development and well-being of communities.

Although most countries understand the impact of the NCD epidemic on populations, its burden in humanitarian emergencies is still not fully acknowledged.

This webinar builds on the outcomes of the last two high-level meetings of the United Nations to bring attention to the risk factors, prevalence and burden of NCDs and the fragile and crisis-affected contexts in humanitarian settings, where health systems have significant difficulties in addressing NCDs. It will stimulate discussions of what works, and facilitate shared experiences for the prevention and control of NCDs in humanitarian settings from the perspective of different actors.
