"We have global NCD commitments, targets and a plan in place. Now we need to focus our attention on how governments can be held accountable for the commitments made, and what role non-state actors have in this endeavour", said Katie Dain, Executive Director of the NCD Alliance speaking yesterday at the launch of the WHO Global Status Report on NCDs.
The Report assesses progress made on each of the nine targets set out in the Global NCD Action Plan, as well as including two chapers dedicated to development and implementation of national multisectoral action plans to attain national targets, and prescribed outstanding actions to attain the targets.
The Report provides information on "best buys" and also case studies of success in various areas at the national level.
