On 20-21 April, the WHO Global Coordination Mechanism on NCDs (GCM/NCD) hosted a dialogue on NCDs, Poverty and Development at WHO Headquarters in Geneva attended by NGOs, Academia, UN agencies and Member States.

Susanne Volqvartz, Danish NCDA, presented the East Africa NCD Alliance Initiative, a scalable model for north-south and south-south collaboration among civil society, while Professor Gerald Yonga, Kenya NCD Alliance, provided insights on the links between NCDs and poverty in Kenya.

Katie Dain, NCDA Executive Director, addressed the role of NGOs in engaging key development stakeholders to ensure inclusion of NCDs in global and national development agendas.
