Comment and express early interest in endorsement for the Global Charter!

16th August 2021

A new Global Charter seeks to mobilise commitment from a range of stakeholders such as governments, international partners, civil society, and the private sector, as appropriate, to place people living with noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and communities at the centre of the NCD response.

This year, the NCD Alliance has developed a nearly final version of the Global Charter on Meaningful Involvement of People Living with NCDs! The Global Charter will aim to:

  • Establish a shared understanding of meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs, fundamental principles and core strategies for operationalising it.
  • Increase commitment among different stakeholders to embed meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs in organisational practices by publicly endorsing the Global Charter.

The Global Charter will also seeks to mobilise commitment from a range of stakeholders to place people living with NCDs and communities at the centre of the NCD response. We invite you to share your views on the Global Charter until Thursday 19 August 2021 and express your early interest in endorsing it here.

The Charter has been developed through an extensive participatory process, including regional dialogues and civil society meetings, key informant interviews with diverse stakeholders, community conversations with people living with NCDs and an online consultation.

Now we invite you to read the Global Charter and share your comments. Let's make meaningful involvement a part of decision making everywhere!
