The adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in September 2015 was a landmark moment for the NCD community. For the first time, non-communicable diseases were included in the global development agenda. Governments are now in consensus that NCDs are a poverty, inequality, and social justice issue.
The first High-level Political Forum (HLPF) following the adoption of the 2030 Agenda is currently taking place in New York and 22 countries are presenting their national reviews of progress achieved so far. The HLPF is the main review mechanism for the 2030 Agenda and will take place yearly. SDG 3 on health is to be reviewed in 2017.
NCD Alliance, together with the Permanent Missions of the Caribbean Community to the UN, is hosting an event today on NCDs Across the SDGs: A Call for Integrated Implementation.
On this occasion, in order to help NCD advocates capitalise on the interlinkages between the different Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and help governments identify how action on NCDs and health can have important effects on other sustainable development priorities and vice versa, we are pleased to share the infographic “NCDs Across the SDGs: A call for an integrated approach”.
The infographic provides advocates with a concise and eye-catching resource to be used in your advocacy and communications efforts. Please, share it widely among your networks. French and Spanish versions will be available soon.
