The Danish NCD Alliance has succeeded in securing two grants from The Civil Society Fund to continue supporting NCD alliances in East Africa.
One grant is for USD30,000 for partnering with the Burundi NCD Alliance while the other comprises USD40,000 to partner with the Rwanda NCD Alliance.
The grants will enable the Danish NCD Alliance to support capacity development activities in support of the two alliances, which plan to implement important campaigns for raising awareness about NCDs. The campaigns will feed into advocacy for improved prevention and health services in the two countries.
“I am sure that people living with NCDs will benefit from this strong and united civil society response to NCDs in the East African region.” – Susanne Volqvartz, Director of Development, Danish NCD Alliance.
Also integrated into this partnership are community dialogues that will feed into preparations for the 2018 UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs.
This grant ensures that countries in the East African Community can develop strong NCD alliances.
The Danish NCD Alliance is looking forward to partnering with the Burundi and Rwanda NCD Alliances over the next 18 months.
