Virtual people-centred regional dialogues on NCDs continues this June

25th May 2021

This month, the NCD Alliance continues its series of regional multi-stakeholder dialogues: Inspiring Change, Putting People First: Shaping Responsive Health Systems for people living with NCDs in the COVID-19 era. These dialogues will provide a virtual platform to discuss region-specific, people-centred approaches to address noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and building back better and fairer from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The dialogues will bring together diverse members of the NCD Alliance network and the broader NCD community to discuss region-specific responses to NCDs. It will convene representatives across different sectors to take stock of current progress on NCDs and UHC, discuss region-specific gaps and opportunities, and identify good practice to accelerate efforts.

The first of the four multisectoral regional dialogues was held on 10 May 2021, focusing on Africa. The series continues across three more regions in June.

All regional stakeholders are welcome to join via the links below:

These dialogues will contribute to the development of a Global Charter on Meaningful Involvement of People Living with NCDs. The charter will identify the different enablers and barriers to the meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs. It will also offer strategies to ensure genuine participation and mechanisms for accountability of commitments made towards this aim.

In addition to the regional dialogues, the Charter will be informed by an online survey and a series of regional meetings for civil society.
