FIRS call for a unified voice on World Lung Day 2018

20th September 2018

On 25 September, respiratory organisations from around the world will celebrate World Lung Day. The Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS) encourages organisations to speak with a unified voice on lung health to mark the day.

FIRS is comprised of the world’s leading international respiratory societies working together to improve lung health globally.

A unified voice of all organisations dedicated to respiratory health will be a powerful force.

World Lung Day falls right before two historic events: the United Nations High-Level Meeting on Tuberculosis (26 Sept.) and the UN High-Level Meeting on Non-NCDs (27 Sept). Many of us are working hard to have these days highlight the terrible burden of lung disease and to make a difference.

Too often we take breathing for granted. World Lung Day provides an advocacy platform for people affected by and working against respiratory disease around the world.
World Lung Day supporters can join the campaign by signing the Charter for Lung Health, using the World Lung Day digital toolkit and by organising their own World Lung Day events.

A unified voice of all organisations dedicated to respiratory health will be a powerful force.
