The event will build on the report ‘Protecting populations, preserving futures: optimising the health workforce to combat NCDs and achieve UHC’ report, launched in 2019. One year on, in the midst of a global pandemic, the theme of optimal allocation of human resources for health is exponentially more relevant. The health workforce is under unprecedented levels of stress due to increased workload and shortages of protective equipment, high risk of contracting infection, stigma and the urgent need to learn new skills and understand a new disease.
Our speakers will:
-
Discuss challenges and solutions to the optimal allocation of human resources for health, particularly in the context of the current pandemic and vis-à-vis the attainment of global NCD targets and the SDGs;
-
Showcase best practices at the national level, highlighting practical approaches;
-
Present innovative care initiatives such as the NCD Academy that aims to leverage multidisciplinary care teams through education and digital health solutions.
The final programme will be communicated closer to the event.
