Register now to join the NCD Alliance panel event in New York to discuss our 2023 Universal Health Coverage advocacy priorities
When: Tuesday, 9 May 2023 from 13:15 - 14:30 EDT
Where: Church Center for the UN, 2nd Floor Conference Room, 777 United Nations Plaza, New York, NY 10017 (in-person only)
Join us in New York as we invite governments and global thought leaders to come together and discuss how to guarantee the right to health for people living with noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) through Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The event will present NCD Alliance's advocacy priorities and key asks ahead of the 2023 UN High-Level Meeting on UHC on 21 September. The HLM marks an important moment for advancing the prevention and control of NCDs, and at the highest level.
So, join us in New York as we explore ways to ensure that NCDs are included in UHC health benefits packages, with no one left behind!
The event is co-hosted by the Permanent Mission of Jamaica to the UN, NCD Alliance, The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust, and WHO, and will be moderated by Elisha Dunn-Georgieu, President and CEO of the Global Health Council. The confirmed speakers include:
• Mr. Werner Obermeyer, Director of the WHO office at UN Headquarters in New York
• Dr. Monika Arora, President-Elect of NCD Alliance and Executive Director at HRIDAY
• Ms. Alison Cox, Director of Policy and Advocacy at NCD Alliance
• Ms. Mariana Gomez Hoyos, VP of International Markets at Beyond Type 1 and a person living with an NCD.
A full speaker list to be announced soon.
The event is open to everyone but requires prior registration.
