In 2024, the seventy-seventh World Health Assembly (WHA77) will take place in Geneva from 27 May to 1 June 2024 with proceedings available via live stream.
The World Health Assembly is the WHO's decision-making body. It's convened every year in May and its main functions are to determine WHO policies, programmes and budgets, in addition to appointing the Director-General.

Time to Lead on NCDs! Charting the course to 2025: Priorities for the UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs
Time: Sunday, 26 May; 15:30 - 16:30 CEST
Venue: Campus Biotech, 9 Chemin des Mines, 1202, Geneve / with live streaming
The event will take place as a part of the World Heart Summit and aims to gather esteemed leaders, advocates, and stakeholders engaged in the noncommunicable diseases, including mental health and neurological conditions (NCD) agenda to discuss strategies to accelerate progress on NCD prevention and care in preparation for the Fourth High-level Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on the Prevention and Control of NCDs and Mental Health in September 2025. During the event leadership from NCD Alliance and World Heart Federation will be sharing civil society priorities for the HLM.

Hosted together with Resolve to Save Lives, this event will emphasise the integral need for a focus on sodium reduction within comprehensive food policies.
The event will highlight:
- The potential for sodium reduction policies to address challenges posed by unhealthy diets and food environments
- Why focusing on sodium reduction policies makes economic sense
- How countries can implement effective policies that include an emphasis on sodium reduction
- Ways that sodium reduction policies can complement existing broader nutrition strategies
