Today, a new publication on rheumatic heart disease (RHD) has been launched: RHD Global Status Report 2015-17: People, Policy, Programmes, Progress.
The report, written by the World Heart Federation on behalf of RHD Action, provides a ‘snapshot’ of the people, policies and programmes that are working to prevent and control RHD around the world today. It features interviews with the people at the heart of the RHD community: both those living with RHD and the health workers who care for them.
The report also outlines past and present national, regional and international policies created to combat RHD, and presents fascinating case studies of RHD prevention and control programmes, from countries as diverse as Fiji, India, South Africa, Yemen and Brazil.
