Work on Global Health and NCDs
Our global health work focuses on improving health outcomes and health care efficiency through signature programs and targeted opportunity grants. In addition, our global health work supports meaningful inclusion of underserved patients, caregivers and frontline health workers as advocates in global policy discussions.
Signature Programs
The Medtronic Foundation operates three signature global health programs focused on improving chronic disease and acute care outcomes among underserved populations through scalable and sustainable models. These signature programs are multi-country, multi-stakeholder, multi-year initiatives and focus on the following:
-

-
Acute Care Models for Heart Attacks and Time-Critical Events: The HeartRescue Project works to improve how sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and ST elevated myocardial infarction (STEMI) is recognized and treated in communities in China, India, Brazil and the United States.
-
Rheumatic Heart Disease: RHD Action is a coalition of global organizations working to improve Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) prevention and control globally, with nationally scalable demonstration models in Tanzania and Uganda.
