    The multistakeholder dialogue will convene representatives across different sectors including development agencies, governments, multilaterals, people living with NCDs, NCDA member organisations including national and regional NCD alliances, NCDA supporters and other key regional stakeholders to take stock of the current status of progress on NCDs and UHC in the Southeast Asia Western Pacific Region, discuss region-specific gaps and opportunities, and identify good practice to accelerate efforts.

  • Cities Can: accelerating progress towards the SDGs

    City Cancer Challenge (C/Can), The Geneva Cities Hub and UN-Habitat invites you to the second in a series of “Geneva Urban Debates” to launch the findings of a new report highlighting the role of cities in accelerating progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). What makes these city-led initiatives successful? What are the key challenges, and how are cities and their counterparts in the health and development community working to address these bottlenecks? Speakers from across regions and sectors will reflect on these questions with a particular focus on quality data to inform solutions that respond to local needs, engaging the right stakeholders for “smarter” and more sustainable solutions, andsharing knowledge and skills to boost local capacity.

    NCDA will co-host with the Healthy Latin American Coalition (CLAS) and Mexico Salud-Hable an Our Views, Our Voices Pan American regional meeting to explore opportunities and barriers related to meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs, alongside strategies and support needed to implement meaningful involvement in organisational practices.

  • NCD Integration in HIV Programming: Improving Quality-of-Life for People Living with HIV – a virtual roundtable ahead of the High-Level Meeting on AIDS

    This roundtable is held as governments prepare for the High-Level Meeting (HLM) on HIV and AIDS on 8-10th June 2021, which will review the progress made in reducing the impact of HIV since the last HLM on HIV and AIDS in 2016 and adopt a new political declaration to guide the future direction of the response. It is co-hosted by GNP+, NCD Alliance, and Global Health Council

However, governments and global health institutions have failed to meaningfully engage diverse communities in the UHC processes, and any attempts to date have been slow and inconsistent.
