Each card in this set briefly focuses on one of the five gaps identified as priority areas of action for civil society to help to bridge the gap on NCDs: Leadership, Accountability, Investment, Care, and Community Engagement. Each card introduces the NCD Civil Society Compass for Bridging the Gap on NCDs, provides an overview of what the gap is about, and proposes actions for civil society to consider taking in order to accelerate progress ahead of 2025 target deadlines. Civil Society advocates can use them separately or as a set to support planning, coordination and advocacy.

Bridging the Gap - NCD Civil Society Compass

This NCD Civil Society Compass presents the outcomes of an analysis of the major gaps in the first decade of the noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) response and potential actions for civil society to bridge these gaps and accelerate progress. The gaps are outlined in full in the companion document Bridging the Gap on NCDs: from global promises to local progress and pinpoint the major barriers to meaningful progress, based on opinion surveys of the NCD Alliance network and drawing on WHO data and peer reviewed research.

58th Directing Council of the Pan American Health Organizations (PAHO)

Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)’s Directing Council took place from Monday 28 September - Tuesday 29 September 2020 and was held virtually for the first time with more than 400 participants connected. What last year was a weeklong meeting, this time shrank to two days. The focus of the Directing Council was centred on the response to COVID-19, and administrative, financial, and constitutional matters.

This NCD Alliance report on the Advocacy Institute 2017-2019 is based on the contributions from the 14 national NCD alliances who participated in the Seed and Accelerator programmes during this period. The NCDA’s Advocacy Institute Seed Programme promotes and supports coalition building and establishes the foundations for effective NCD advocacy through in-person trainings around major global milestones, webinars, tailored technical assistance, peer support, as well as annual seed grants.
Bridging the accountability gap between commitments and action on NCDs
