The NCD Alliance today released a joint statement supported by nearly 300 organisations, people living with NCDs and experts calling on world leaders to go above and beyond the vague and weak commitments contained in the ​Political Declaration of the third UN HLM on NCDs.

La Alianza de ENT insta a todas las agencias de la ONU y a los gobiernos nacionales a no asociarse con la industria del alcohol, ya que la industria del alcohol persiste en cabildear contra las medidas recomendadas por la OMS para reducir los impactos en la salud y el daño social atribuible a sus productos.

El alcohol es una de los principales causas de muerte y discapacidad en todo el mundo, pero los gobiernos no responden con los recursos y las medidas que este tema urgente requiere, dice un nuevo informe.

NCDA calls on all UN agencies and national governments not to engage in partnerships with the alcohol industry, on the grounds that the alcohol industry persists with concerted lobbying against WHO recommended measures to reduce health impacts and societal harm attributable to their products. 

The World Heart Federation launched the White Paper for Circulatory Health on 25 September, during the United Nations General Assembly and just ahead of the High-Level Meeting on NCDs.
