    This case study looks at ways in which research is being used by Partnering for Change implementing partners. The research builds on the understanding that NCD care in Lebanon is complex, with a heavy burden of treatment experienced by families and people living with NCDs, that social workers play a key role in helping people to navigate the system, and that there is an urgent need for additional support for people living with NCDs to be enabled to better self- manage their conditions.

    On Tuesday, 19 September 2023, Access Accelerated, NCD Alliance, the World Bank, and the World Diabetes Foundation convened a closed-door high-level roundtable, “Integrating Health Financing to Achieve UHC and NCD SDG Targets,” as a parallel event to the opening of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly and the High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

    This NCD Alliance webinar familiarized the NCD community and Global Charter endorsers with the WHO Framework for Meaningful Engagement of People Living with NCDs and Mental Health and Neurological Conditions; demonstrated how the Global Charter and WHO Framework align with national, regional and global advocacy priorities for NCD Prevention and Control; and demonstrated the importance of a multisectoral approach to the meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs.

    This NCD Alliance webinar examined how shifting the power balance from top-down NCD polices being provided to people living with NCDs to people living with NCDs being equal partners in driving the NCD response stands to increase impact and accelerate the response; explored the contextualizing and embedding of meaningful involvement of People Living with NCDs in organisational practices and processes; and provided examples of operationalizing meaningful involvement at different levels and in different settings, addressing power dynamics, to inspire similar strategies adapted to participants' own contexts.
