The 2024 WHO Regional Committee Meetings (RCMs) happening from August to October this year, provided a crucial stage for NCD advocacy, bringing together alliances across regions to champion noncommunicable disease (NCD) priorities. These meetings are not just technical discussions — they are platforms for regional advocacy, providing an entry point for civil society advocates to engage with key stakeholders, strengthen partnerships, gather intelligence and strategically influence health agendas ahead of the 2025 UN High-Level Meeting (HLM) on NCDs.

CLAS, together with the World Heart Federation and NCD Alliance presented at the PAHO Directing Council, on digital transformation of the health sector, and a strategy for building resilient health systems in the recovery post COVID-19.  

In an effort to amplify the voices of people living with NCDs (PLWNCDs) in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR) and raise awerness about the specific needs and challenges of refugees living with NCDs in the region,  the Eastern Mediterranean NCD Alliance (EM-NCDA) participated at the recent virtual Regional Committee meeting (RCM 67).
