Join NCDA celebrating awareness days in October

01st October 2019

From stroke to breast cancer, many dates in October mark health-related World Days uniting the global health community in raising awareness on noncommunicable diseases (NCDs).

World Days are a unique opportunity for the global health community to unite for a cause, raising awareness on global issues and calling for actions to address those challenges. The NCD Alliance supports the work of its members leading on NCD-related world day campaigns, and join them in their efforts to put the spotlight on specific NCDs throughout the month of October:

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October)

World Obesity Day (11 October) - #WorldObesityDay

World Spine Day (16 October) - #WorldSpineDay

World Osteoporosis Day (20 October) - #WorldOsteoporosisDay

World Psoriasis Day (29 October) - #WorldPsoriasisDay

World Stroke Day (29 October) - #WorldStrokeDay #DontBeTheOne

We invite the global NCD movement - health advocates, experts, people living with NCDs, carers, civil society organisations, etc. - to join forces on those awareness days, and visit the dedicated campaign websites to get involved. It may be as simple as ampliyfing the word on social media using campaign hashtags, or as big as organising a national event to celebrate the day, every actions counts. Together we are stronger and can push for progress on NCDs at all levels towards the shared goal of Health For All.
