Save these key 2025 dates: Three moments in the road to the HLM4

28th March 2025

Key dates in 2025 have been confirmed on the road to the High-level meeting of the UN General Assembly on the prevention and control of NCDs and the promotion of mental health and well-being (HLM4).

The first is the date of the multistakeholder hearing (MSH) that will collect input from a broad range of participants, including civil society and relevant private sector entities, in preparation for the HLM4. The MSH will take place on 2 May 2025 and registration for it is now open.

The HLM4 itself is slated for 25 September. One aim of the MSH is to identify concrete milestones for the HLM4 and the Political Declaration that it will issue. The MSH will include two panels:

  • Panel 1: Tackling the determinants of NCDs and mental health and well-being through multisectoral and effective governance and collaborative action;
  • Panel 2: Reshaping and strengthening health systems and all forms of financing to meet the needs of people living with and at risk of NCDs and mental health conditions.Both meetings are expected to be broadcast on webtv.un.org.

For those joining the MSH in person, there will be an opportunity to deliver statements from the floor. Please note that ECOSOC accreditation is not required to participate in the MSH.
