Stand up for #VaccinEquity

22nd February 2021

Health and care workers are the backbone of health systems and have been at the forefront of the COVID-19 response. For more than a year many have had to work without the protection and resources they need.

As a result of scientific efforts, a COVID-19 vaccine has now been distributed in more than 80 countries. Those first in line for a vaccine include health workers and people who are clinically vulnerable such as those with noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) or health conditions that cause them to be more at risk of contracting and even dying from COVD-19.

To protect everyone and end this pandemic, the World Health Organization (WHO) has called for #VaccinEquity

At NCD Alliance, we are proud to support this declaration, calling on leaders to begin vaccinating health workers and those at high risk of COVID-19 in all countries within the first 100 days of 2021.

When you sign on, you will be standing alongside thousands of others, including Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of WHO, UNDP, the Pandemic Action Network, Women in Global Health, the International Pediatric Association, and the Global Institute for Disease Elimination; and even athletes including Romain Grosjean.

Make their voices heard!

To get involved, sign the declaration here or spread the word on social media using the hashtag #VaccinEquity.
