Depuis lors, nous avons été témoins de nombreux engagements politiques de haut niveau en faveur de la prévention et de la maîtrise des MNT, mais les actions ont été lentes à se mettre en place. La plupart des pays sont en retard sur l’Objectif de développement durable 3.4 et l’aide internationale au développement pour les MNT reste trop faible pour s’attaquer à la première cause de mortalité dans le monde.
En 2011, la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas adoptó la primera Declaración Política sobre la Prevención y el Control de las Enfermedades No Transmisibles (ENT), que reconoció a las ENT como uno de los principales desafíos de desarrollo sostenible del siglo XXI.
In 2011, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the first Political Declaration on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs), which recognised NCDs as one of the major sustinable development challenges of the 21st century.
Since then, we’ve seen many high-level political commitments to prevent and control NCDs, but action has been slow to follow. Most countries are off-track to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 3.4., and international development assistance for NCDs remains too low to address the world’s leading cause of death.
