The annual report provides a snapshot of the activities and achievements of NCDA and our extensive constituency. It also includes a summary of financial statements. The report serves as a testament and heartfelt thank you to our community as we move ever closer towards meeting our common goal: to reduce the NCD burden for people everywhere.
Saving lives, spending less: a strategic response to noncommunicable diseases reveals, for the first time, the financing needs and returns on investment of the WHO cost-effective and feasible “Best Buy” policies to protect people from noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), the world’s leading causes of ill health and death.
Deaths caused by noncommunicable diseases bring suffering and heartache to millions of people worldwide – those who live with the diseases, as well as their families and friends. 70% of all deaths worldwide result from NCDs, but this should not be the case as many of these deaths are preventable. We are calling on governments to move beyond rhetoric and to commit to and deliver much more assertive action, now. Because we have had enough. Have you? #EnoughNCDs

This briefing paper aims to inform civil society and partners about the crucial opportunity of the 2018 UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs (UN HLM) to mobilise political leadership and new resources and action to improve the lives of people affected by NCDs worldwide, and to guide advocacy at global, regional and national level for strong commitments at the UN HLM.
The Advocacy Agenda of People Living with NCDs was built with the generous input of 1,893 people living with NCDs who took part in the Our Views, Our Voices consultation efforts. It provides a compass for NCD advocacy efforts and functions as a living document that captures the priorities of people living with NCDs. It is intended to guide and support efforts of key stakeholders to improve NCD prevention and control.
