2nd Global NCD Alliance Forum 2017: theme announced

"Stepping up the pace on NCDs: making 2018 count" is the theme of the second Global NCD Alliance Forum, to be held from 9 to 11 December 2017, in Sharjah (UAE).

It was announced by HE Mrs Sawsan Jafar, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Friends of Cancer Patients, on Sunday 21 May at a dedicated NCDA event in Geneva. 

The Forum is organised in partnership with local host organisation, Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP).  Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Founder and Royal Patron of FoCP, International Ambassador for Childhood Cancer for UICC, is the Forum’s Patron as part of her commitment to the fight against cancer and NCDs. 
 
The Forum will convene representatives from NCD civil society from across the world, building links with multilaterals, international NGOs, select government representatives and NCD experts, facilitating sharing of good practice and capacity building for NCD advocacy. 
 
With two days of plenary sessions, interactive workshops and networking sessions, the 2nd Global NCD Alliance Forum 2017 provides a prime opportunity to unite and mobilise NCD civil society ahead of the 2018 UN High-level Meeting on NCDs. 
The NCD Alliance convened over 200 NCD leaders for the the first ever Global NCD Alliance Forum on 13th-15th November 2015 in Sharjah.
