Do you want to join the NCD movement and ensure your priorities are represented globally at the highest level? Would you like to connect with NCD advocates and experts at regional and global level, and leverage opportunities for strategic and coordinated action? Are you ready to take your advocacy work to the next level?
This guide has been developed to help members of the NCD civil society community, such as NCD alliances, members and people living with NCDs, join the campaign to demand meaningful change in the lead up to the 2018 United Nations High-Level Meeting on NCDs.
This guide has been developed to help members of the NCD civil society community begin their social media journey. It shares how strategic use of social media can generate large-scale meaningful change, and should be a crucial tool in the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) worldwide.
The annual report provides a snapshot of the activities and achievements of NCDA and our extensive constituency. It also includes a summary of financial statements. The report serves as a testament and heartfelt thank you to our community as we move ever closer towards meeting our common goal: to reduce the NCD burden for people everywhere.
Saving lives, spending less: a strategic response to noncommunicable diseases reveals, for the first time, the financing needs and returns on investment of the WHO cost-effective and feasible “Best Buy” policies to protect people from noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), the world’s leading causes of ill health and death.
Deaths caused by noncommunicable diseases bring suffering and heartache to millions of people worldwide – those who live with the diseases, as well as their families and friends. 70% of all deaths worldwide result from NCDs, but this should not be the case as many of these deaths are preventable. We are calling on governments to move beyond rhetoric and to commit to and deliver much more assertive action, now. Because we have had enough. Have you? #EnoughNCDs
The EANCDA promotes regional cooperation between the NCD Alliances of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zanzibar to provide a coordinated platform for addressing NCDs at sub-national, national and sub-regional levels.
A vibrant civil society is an important contributor towards progress on NCD prevention and control. A mapping of civil society organisations (CSOs) working on NCDs in the WHO European Region was performed to offer a broad portrait of the state of civil society action on NCDs and inform efforts to strengthen civil society’s contributions. The mapping analysed data collected via an online survey of CSOs in addition to a series of in-depth interviews with civil society informants.
