Danish NCD Alliance
The Danish NCD Alliance is a collaboration between the Danish Cancer Society, the Lung Association, and the Diabetes Association. The alliance aims to create a common forum for knowledge sharing and collaboration, while also working internationally on development projects in East Africa, where we support efforts to combat NCDs such as cancer, lung disease, and diabetes.
The Danish NCD Alliance has a clear mission to help build and strengthen patient associations in East Africa. Through this work, we seek to empower their voices so that everyone affected by NCDs can achieve better conditions and rights. By fostering cooperation and knowledge sharing among partners, the alliance focuses on creating a stronger voice for patients and their needs, which is essential to ensuring they receive the support and resources they require.
The Danish NCD Alliance has a president and is led by a steering committee with a leadership representative from each of the three founding organizations.
The alliance’s work is carried out through the individual member organizations, supported by a small joint secretariat. Our partners in East Africa are led by locally emplyed project managers.
