160th session of the WHO Executive Board

The 160th session of the World Health Organization Executive Board will take place from 25 January to 2 February 2027 at WHO headquarters in Geneva. The Executive Board plays a key role in shaping the global health agenda, agreeing the agenda and resolutions that will move forward for consideration by the World Health Assembly.

For the NCD community, the Executive Board provides an important opportunity to engage governments and advocate for stronger action on the prevention and control of NCDs, mental health, universal health coverage and the wider determinants of health.

The 2027 session will also be particularly significant as the Executive Board is expected to nominate up to three candidates for the position of WHO Director-General, ahead of the appointment of the next Director-General at the 80th World Health Assembly in May 2027.

NCD Alliance will follow the discussions and decisions relevant to the global NCD response and share opportunities for civil society engagement and advocacy.
