UNGA80 and HLM4 Advocacy Debrief from NCDA
Time: September 26, 12:30-14:00
Venue: Church Center of the United Nations, 777 United Nations Plaza, New York, NY, USA
The fourth UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs and Mental Health (HLM4), which will take place in September 2025 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), is a key milestone for the international community. Not only does it provide an opportunity to take stock on progress since the last HLM in 2018, it also provides a forum to set actionable standards and plans for the rest of the 2030 agenda. The resulting political declaration will set the tone for NCD prevention and control through at least the end of the SDG period – for better or for worse. HLM4 and UNGA will also provide an opportunity for stakeholders to gather and share intelligence through side events and bilateral meetings.
NCD Alliance has been deeply engaged in advocacy around the political declaration and will also be involved with and attending several side events at UNGA, as will many members and NGO partners. This meeting will provide a forum for discussion about the week’s hot topics and trends, accomplishments, the strengths and weaknesses of the political declaration, and where the NCD community will go from here.
Please note, this is a civil society only event, and this registration page is for individuals affiliated with an NCDA member or NGO supporter organisation. Please do not circulate this page further. If you have any questions about attendance at this event, please contact membership@ncdalliance.org
