Coronavirus (COVID-19) resources relevant to NCDs

This page shares various resources and tools to support our network navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus in 2019. The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that 'most people infected with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness. The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is to be well informed about COVID-19, the disease it causes and how it spreads'.

As a global alliance, the NCD Alliance (NCDA) will do everything within our capacity to raise our voices for the rights of people living with NCDs, older people and marginalised groups, and to share information, guidance and good practice to protect each other. In full solidarity and alignment with WHO, and in collaboration with our members, supporters and 65 national and regional NCD alliances, our contribution will be to provide an NCD lens to this fast moving health security challenge.

Stay Informed!

As ever, the power of NCDA is in our collective expertise and experience.

We are therefore keen to share information, resources and good practice across our network during this outbreak, both in terms of the data and the response required. Watch this space as we continue to collate relevant information and resources.  We also encourage you to share via this webform relevant resources and tools.
