NCDA response on WHO Proposal for a Joint Process to Support Reforms of the Global Health Architecture
13th May 2026
NCDA welcomes WHO proposal for a joint process to support the transformation of the global health architecture, applauding its explicit recognition of NCDs and mental health, and its focus on equity, primary health care, and country leadership. However, it expresses concerns over insufficient civil society representation, a rushed timeline, lack of rights-based approaches, and weak safeguards to limit the influence of all health-harming industries, urging Member States to ensure inclusive participation, accountability mechanisms, and reforms addressing gaps in integrated care and UHC.
