79th World Health Assembly (WHA79)

The World Health Assembly (WHA) is the decision-making body of the World Health Organization. Convened annually in May, the Assembly brings together delegations from all WHO Member States to determine WHO policies, programmes, and budgets, and to consider resolutions and decisions that shape global health priorities.

NCD Alliance will engage throughout the World Health Assembly by coordinating with its global network to develop joint civil society statements, track NCD-relevant agenda items, and advocate for stronger, more accountable action on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases.

The WHA79 Advocacy Briefing, put together by NCD Alliance, World Heart Federation, World Stroke Organization and FDI World Dental Federation, features our key advocacy messages for the session, as well as our Constituency and Individual Statements on specific WHA79 agenda items.
